Weight Plates & Barbells

Barbells and plates are the foundation of strength training, and good ones last a lifetime. A quality Olympic bar that has spent years in a gym can still spin and flex exactly as it should, provided it is straight and the sleeves are sound.

We roll-test bars for straightness, check sleeve rotation and knurling, and check plates for cracked inserts and accurate weight before quoting.

Buying guide

Before you buy weight plates & barbells

  1. Ask whether a bar has been roll-tested. A bent bar is not worth buying at any price.
  2. Bumper plates are for lifts that are dropped; iron plates are fine for racks and plate-loaded machines.
  3. Plate-loaded machines need plenty of plates. Budget for them when you plan a floor.
